Book Chapter

November 08, 2021

Maria Grazia Giammarinaro, member of the VULNER advisory board, and Letizia Palumbo, VULNER member of the Italian team and leader of the thematic work package on human trafficking, co-wrote a chapter in the book "Diritti umani in crisi? - Emergenze, disuguaglianze, esclusioni" (Human Rights in Crisis? - Emergencies, Inequalities, Exclusions).

By focusing on migrant workers’ vulnerability to exploitation in European countries, their chapter examines whether and in what way the Italian and supranational legislation and case law regarding labour exploitation take into account the "situational" dimension of vulnerability.

In doing so, the paper looks at this notion in relation to the field of human rights and highlights its importance from a gender perspective.

The publication is in Italian and can be accessed here.
