Workshop

January 27, 2022

On January 27, 2022 Sabrina Marchetti, leader of the Italian VULNER team, organised a workshop with the Interegg Central European project "SIforREF-Integrating Refugees in Society and the Labour Market Through Social Innovation" at the Ca' Foscari University in Venice.

Both teams are based at the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage of Ca' Foscari University and are led by Prof. Sabrina Marchetti and Prof. Francesca Campomori respectively. The aim of the meeting was exchanging experiences on “from below” perspectives on asylum policies in Italy based on the work done in both projects.

Francesca Campomori and Pamela Pasian, both of the SIforREF team, presented the results of their project and the pilot actions they carried out for refugees' labour integration in Bologna, Parma, Berlin, Ljubljana and Vienna sharing their strong experience with local-level stakeholders and community-projects.

During the meeting Letizia Palumbo, Dany Carnassale and Martina Millefiorini, all of the Italian VULNER team, offered a more theoretical and legal perspective: Letizia summarised the outcomes of the case law analysis she carried out during the first phase of the VULNER project, whilst Dany highlighted some of the topics emerging from the interviews with protection seekers that he carried out during the last months

The meeting was also attended by other colleagues based at Ca' Foscari for a lively discussion.
