Conference Participation
On 12 December, 2022 Zoé Crine and Christine Flamand, researchers of the VULNER Belgian team, took part to a conference organized by NGOs on the reception crisis in Belgium. The conference organisers included Amnesty International Vlaanderen, Vluchtelingenwerk Vlaanderen, Caritas International.be, CIRÉ asbl, Orbit vzw, with the support of the UNHCR.
As part of the conference, Zoé Crine and Christine Flamand introduced a session on the vulnerabilities of asylum seekers. They presented the findings of the second VULNER research report on Belgium, and they exchanged with the 20 participants on how the long waiting periods before accessing the reception centres impact the mental health and well-being of asylum seekers.
